Details:
Hikers will have the chance to walk at the same time with the international community of Fair Trade through different continents, England, India, Europe and America.
They will get to know more about the famous authors of Baskinta, Mikhael Nouaime, Abdallah Ghanem, Georges Ghanem, Rashid Ayoub, &Sleiman Kettaneh and the famous painter Georges Oryan.
About Baskinta Fair Trade Town:
Baskinta is one of the 9 Lebanese villages which signed the Fair Trade Towns charter two years ago. The main goal of a Fair Trade Town is to unite a community of both producers and individuals around the will to promote the Fair Trade movement’s ethics and products.
The Fair Trade Walk festival:
An international festival of Fair Trade Walk with a literary theme is running from March 1st until the end of April, 2017. Many walks will therefore take place during these two months, namely in Scotland and Wales.
The festival encourages individuals, groups, schools and universities to take part in these walks and raise awareness on the injustice of the international trading system and encourage people to join the campaign for better income and improved working conditions for the people who grow our food and make our products.
