How to Make Natural Easter Egg Dyes

Stop pulling this off and give it a try this year: color your Easter eggs using all natural ingredients already available in your pantry and fridge! Natural dyes are actually very easy to make, all you need is some boiling water, a little white vinegar and the designated ingredient for each color.

Use Onion Skins for Orange:
2 large handfuls of onion skin + 2 cups water in a sauce pan. Simmer 20 minutes then add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar//Allow mixture to cool before dipping eggs. Dip 1-5 minutes (longer time for deeper color).

Use Beets for Pink:
2-4 tablespoons freshly grated beets + 2 cups boiling water + 1 teaspoon white vinegar// Dip eggs 1-5 minutes (longer time for deeper color). Don't worry if your eggs look more brown than pink at first. They will dry into a pretty pastel shade.

Use Turmeric for Yellow:
1-2 teaspoons ground turmeric  (كركم) + 2 cups boiling water + 1 teaspoon white vinegar// Dip eggs for 1-5 minutes (longer time for deeper color). Clean off any powder carefully with a damp paper towel.

Use Red Cabbage for Blue:
2-3 tablespoons chopped red cabbage + 2 cups boiling water + 1 teaspoon white vinegar// Place eggs in mixture over night. Do not touch or stir. Carefully remove the following day and allow to dry a few minutes in the spoon or dipping tool before transferring to carton.

Note: These measurements are proportional; for a larger quantity of water make sure to increase the dye ingredient quantity you are using!
Enjoy!
