Everyone should watch Before The Flood, by Leonardo Di Caprio

Before The Flood is an urgent call to mankind to implement immediate policies to save the planet from the breaking point we are about to reach.

DiCaprio introduced the film as follows: "Before The Flood is the product of an incredible three-year journey that took place with my co-creator and director Fisher Stevens. We went to every corner of the globe to document the devastating impacts of climate change and questioned humanity's ability to reverse what may be the most catastrophic problem mankind has ever faced. There was a lot to take on. All that we witnessed on this journey shows us that our world's climate is incredibly interconnected and that it is at urgent breaking point.(...)"

Everyone must watch this 1 hour long free documentary available to all on Youtube and other social media channels.

Before The Flood is directed by Fisher Stevens; Produced by a collaboration between Stevens, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Packer, Brett Ratner, Trevor Davidoski, and Jennifer Davisson Killoran; with Martin Scorsese is an executive producer.

Collaboration with Carrefour Supermarket!

[texte français ci-dessous]

Fair Trade Lebanon and Terroirs du Liban (TDL) have launched a collaboration with Carrefour supermarket, located in Hazmieh, in the capital of Beirut, through the animation of a live Saj station (traditional Lebanese bread, served with cheese, zaatar and other fillings) while also selling the whole range of TDL products.

The Saj stand is located next to Carrefour’s bakery and is animated by cooperatives’ women who underwent the food training sessions offered within the UN Women project.

Through this collaboration and within the framework of the “Placement Program” of the project, these women were hired by Fair Trade and Tourism Lebanon (FTTL) to put into practice their knowledge and further develop their expertise.

Live saj preparation hours are from 9 AM until 8 PM, throughout the week.
This collaboration will last until the end of December 2016 with a chance of extension.

Support this great development initiative and make sure to pass by and taste their exquisite Saj preparations!

Fair Trade = No Poverty!

For the second time, the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) observed the Global Anti-Poverty Week from 16th to 22nd of October 2016 and highlighted the tangible contribution of its members to the eradication of poverty.
Promoting the 10 Principles of Fair Trade is a means to eradicate poverty as desired by the first goal of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals – NO POVERTY.

WFTO believes that the principles of Fair Trade are effective overarching tools to fight poverty.
Hence, WFTO’s formula to eradicate poverty Fair Trade + Economic Opportunities = No Poverty
For the campaign, all members used the icons of Fair Trade Principle 1 (Creating Opportunities for Disadvantaged Producers) and Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty) to represent visually our formula of change. See Fair Trade Lebanon’s visual below.

By creating economic opportunities for producers, especially the small and marginalized farmers and artisans, the WFTO and its members believe that poverty could be eradicated.
